Two Hours of Work and Nothing to Show for It!

Hallo!
So today we didn't start school at 10 because I was at the orthodontist getting my braces off! (Which didn't hurt by the way.) But anyways when we got home I started on math. I finished the homework problems, and took Quiz A. If my grade was good I'd be done but it wasn't so that was my 'practice' test. So I took Quiz B. And my grade WAS WORSE! I was so happy about getting my braces off and was ready to do school and get a lot done and was even having a fairly good time doing math...until I got a C. So now I have to take a Quiz C that my mom has to write!!!!! Good grief! I spent two hours working on math and have no grade to record after all of that!
Ahh, let's change the subject. On Monday, mom and I drove around the neighborhood and picked up all the bags of food people had placed on their front steps. I would say about 2/3 to 1/2 of the people donated food! Dad and I took it all to Ashley's (the drop off spot) later that night and then today (Wednesday) Mom bought some food to donate specifically from our family! How exciting! I did pretty well if I do say so myself! :p
We are having volleyball this week after all (they were either going to cancel the beginners practice or send us all to Norman to scrimmage) but we're having practice at the normal gym. Only it's 45 minutes short! :( But oh well, at least it's practice!
Also the band concert was last night! Ahhh! It went pretty well! I didn't miss the key signature once but I made some other mistakes so it pretty much evened out but I had fun and my sister and parents were there, too! They said our band (Advanced Band) sounded great! So that's what counts! It was sad though because my friend Ashley had a solo (she plays flute) and she sort of messed up and also was very quiet. I felt so bad! But there wasn't anything I could do! Now she say's she's going to be taking a break from her flute for awhile.... boo!
And I had to miss choir to go to the concert which made me mad because there is a solo in one of the songs we are doing that I was going to ask to do and he said he might give it out yesterday...boo I hope no one else got it! Because I'd love to sign it! It's in the song we are doing called "Schlafe, mein Liebster" (Sleep, My Beloved in German). The solo goes like this "Schlafe mein Liebster, geniesse der ruh x2 Wache nach diesem vor aller gedeihen x2" Which means "Slumber, beloved, and take they repose. Soon wilt thou waken, our joy and salvation."

Pronounciation Guide:
Schlafe - Schla-fuh
mein - mine
Liebster - It's like that toy called a leapster on a 'b' instead of a 'p' and and more of a 'stir' sound than a 'ster' sound.
geniesse - guh-knee-ee-suh
der - day
ruh - rue
Wache - vach
Nach - Knock
diesem - di-sem
vor - vor
aller - ah-ler
gedeihen - guh-die-hen

It's a very slow song but the music was composed by Bach so I like it. :) Hopefully, I get the solo! :)
That's pretty much all that's new school wise. Check back later for more!
Ever yours,
Alissa Marie Lindsey
